Northwood Ravin brings together a diverse set of high-level skills and talents with many years of experience in the multifamily industry as well as a shared commitment to excellence that cannot be surpassed. The NWR team collectively boasts over 100 years of multifamily experience, having developed over 10,000 units, constructed over 15,000 units, and managed over 25,000 units. This is the award-winning team that has won multiple NAHB Multifamily Pillars of the Industry Awards, Multi-Housing News’ Design Excellence Awards and many more. What’s more, our team truly enjoys working together and shares a camaraderie and passion for what we can achieve together. David R. Ravin

David R. Ravin

President/CEO
As President & CEO of Northwood Ravin LLC, David manages the day-to-day operations of the company and works with the senior management teams in establishing and implementing strategic goals and initiatives. Northwood Ravin concentrates on developing, constructing, and managing luxury for-rent and for-sale infill and mixed-use housing throughout the Southeast. David previously worked at Crosland for 14 years and served as President of Crosland Residential which operated a multi-family portfolio of over 48 communities with a market value exceeding $900 million. David has developed over 24 luxury multi-family communities which have received national and regional recognition from the National Association of Homebuilders, Urban Land Institute, ICSC, CEL National Customer Service Company, and National Multi-Family Housing News.

Jeff Furman

Jeff Furman

Vice President, Development
Director of Raleigh Operations
As head of the Raleigh regional office and Vice President of Development, Jeff is responsible for the development, design, construction and stabilization of Northwood Ravin’s multifamily and mixed-use developments. Working closely with the development, general contracting and property management teams, he has been a key contributor to the successful development of over 3,500 residential units and 800,000 sq. ft. of commercial. Jeff's active projects include multiple projects in construction as well numerous pursuit opportunities in the Southeastern U.S. He serves as the development manager for both the residential and commercial parts of Bradford in Cary NC which is a signature, mixed-use development that includes 390 residential units integrated with a grocery anchored shopping center. In addition to being a registered professional engineer and licensed North Carolina real estate broker, Jeff is a LEED AP and works closely with the residential team to implement and improve luxury, sustainable features into the pipeline of projects. Prior to joining the Northwood Ravin, Jeff served as Director of Development in the multifamily group for Crosland. Previous to that role, he was in the Crosland Retail division and managed the development of 3 shopping centers. Professional experience also includes land development design management and 7 years of active duty military service as an officer in the US Navy Civil Engineer Corps.

Jennifer Murphy

Jennifer Murphy

Vice President, Accounting & Finance
As Controller of Northwood Ravin, Jennifer is responsible for the oversight and management of daily accounting operations, including financial reporting, cash management, management of the accounting team, integration of financial systems, coordination of the annual audit and tax returns, risk management and working with the property management, development and contracting divisions within the company. Jennifer works on the annual budget, planning and multi-year projections. Prior to joining Northwood Ravin, Jennifer’s experience includes serving as Vice President/Corporate Controller for Paramount Parks and Vice President/Corporate Controller for Crosland, LLC. In both roles, she was responsible for the consolidated financial reporting, cash management, management of the accounting teams, risk management, annual audit and working closing with all operating departments. Most recently Jennifer was the Regional Controller for Colliers International, where she was responsible for the start-up of the Eastern Region Accounting office for the REMS (Real Estate Management Services) division.

Adam Golden

Adam Golden

Vice President, Development
As Vice President of Development, Adam is responsible for leading all phases of the development process on new multifamily projects. Adam joined Northwood Ravin in September of 2011. Prior to joining Northwood Ravin, Adam was a Director of development at Wood Partners. He joined Wood Partners in 1998 and was involved in the successful development of more than 2,300 units in 9 projects in North Carolina and Virginia. Adam led all of Wood Partners’ development activity in southern Virginia and successfully developed 5 projects totaling more than 1,200 units in high-barrier Virginia markets while establishing the firm’s presence and reputation as a market leader in the region. One of Adam’s projects holds the distinction of being the most profitable transaction in Wood Partners’ history. Before joining Wood Partners, Adam was a Development Analyst at Trammell Crow Residential where he worked on the development of more than 1,600 units in 6 projects in North Carolina and Virginia. Preceding Trammell Crow Residential, Adam worked for National Realty Management where he served as a multi-site Property Manager and Technical Advisor on LIHTC compliance for the southeast region.

Ben Yorker

Ben Yorker

Vice President, Development
Ben Yorker is Director of Development for Northwood Ravin’s Charlotte office. In this capacity, he is responsible for leading multifamily development for Northwood Ravin’s deep-south markets, including Charlotte and Atlanta. Yorker’s professional real estate experience spans over 14 years. In this time, he has held leadership roles on a variety of noteworthy projects including Manor at Six Forks, a 298-unit, mixed-use, deck-wrapped apartment community in Raleigh, North Carolina, and High Street, an upscale 55-acre mixed-use community located in the heart of Williamsburg, VA. He also led development for Landing at Southpoint, a 54-unit condominium that is North Carolina’s first multifamily community to earn certification under the US Green Building Council’s LEED for Homes program. Yorker joined Northwood Ravin in 2012. Just prior, Yorker worked for CBRE’s Global Corporate Services platform, where he served as an imbedded Strategist on the BB&T Account. He was a developer with Boylan Development Company from 2007-2010 and Roseland Property Company from 2005-2007.

Kent Wissler

Kent Wissler

Vice President, Contracting
Kent has over 20 years experience in construction and project management. Kent’s key responsibility as Director of Pre-Construction and Estimating is overseeing the front end process of mixed-use and multifamily projects for Northwood Ravin and CAP Construction, ensuring success on each project during the construction operations phase. Specific responsibilities include scope development, project start-up, strategy, and scheduling. Kent leads the Pre-Construction and Estimating department which works closely with the Northwood Ravin Development team. Kent’s previous experience includes an extensive background in construction and project management, including work on high-rise luxury condominiums, urban infill sites, large-scale retirement communities and medical centers. Prior to joining Northwood Ravin Construction, Kent served as a Project Manager for Crosland Contracting, Kraft Construction Company and The Weitz Company.

Christopher Herman

Christopher Herman

Senior Vice President, Construction

Chris joined Northwood Ravin in 2014. As Senior Vice President, Chris is responsible for the design, pre-construction and construction of Northwood Ravin’s multifamily and mixed- use developments. Utilizing his unique architectural, development and construction background, Chris will work closely with our development team and A&E partners to implement our strategy and execute our pipeline of projects. Prior to joining Northwood Ravin, Chris served as Vice President of National Multifamily Housing for Balfour Beatty Construction in Charlotte, NC. In his years of experience, he has built over 8,000 multifamily units including large mixed-use developments across the Southeast including, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Virginia and Tennessee.

Renee Brown

Renee Brown

Vice President, Human Resources

Renee serves as Vice President of Human Resources and oversees all human capital functions for the company, including HR policy and strategy, talent selection and development, benefits plan design and administration and employee relations. Her duties focus on strengthening the organization by implementing strategies that build on the company’s commitment to attracting and retaining talent. Renee has over 27 years of experience in HR and managing human capital. Prior to joining Northwood Ravin, Renee served as Director of Human Resources for Crosland.

Susan Craige

Susan Craige

Vice President, Design
As Vice President of Design for Northwood Ravin, Susan focuses her energies on assisting and supporting the development process of both multi-family and mixed-use projects. With a professional background in the design industry, Susan uses her experience in tracking various project submittals, making finish selections, and facilitating the installation process. By helping coordinate the information flow between construction, development, and the sales teams she is able to establish useful feedback systems for future decision making. Upon graduation from Meredith College, Susan began her career as an interior designer focusing on residential applications. After becoming the proud mother of two, she rejoined the design community and has worked to develop and maintain relationships with vendors and clientele, serving for several years as Design Manager for Crosland Residential. As an NWR team member, Susan will assist the development associates in the successful completion of its multiple communities.

Mike Wilson

Mike Wilson

Vice President

Prior to joining Northwood Ravin, Mike attended UNC Charlotte and then UNC Chapel Hill for Law School. Mike spent 19 years as a litigator in Construction Law and Commercial / Business Litigation at the Charlotte, North Carolina firm of Johnston, Allison & Hord, PA where he was the Litigation Practice Group Leader.

Over the course of his practice, Mike has been twice named as one of the top 100 attorneys in the State of North Carolina and in 2009 he was named in Business North Carolina magazine as the top attorney in North Carolina for Construction Law. He is one of only 55 attorneys in the State of North Carolina that received a rating in the practice area of Commercial Litigation in the 2015 edition of the Chambers USA publication and is a co-author of the Construction Claims Chapter in the North Carolina Construction Law Desk Book publication for the North Carolina Bar Association (“NCBA”).

Mike taught Business Law in the UNC Charlotte MBA program for two years and he currently serves as the Secretary of the UNC Charlotte Board of Trustees.

Casey White

Casey White

Vice President, Construction

As Vice President of Construction, Casey provides the leadership and direction for the construction project teams by working closely with the development team as well as design and subcontracting partners to ensure project goals are met. In addition to overseeing the execution of active construction projects, Casey also works with preconstruction, development, and property management teams to support in the strategic planning and process for delivering our vision. Prior to joining Northwood Ravin, Casey served in various project management roles for Balfour Beatty Construction, Adolfson & Peterson, and Cox Schepp successfully delivering over 1000 multifamily units and various mixed use facilities throughout the Southeast.

Charlie Henley

Charlie Henley

Asset Manager

Charlie’s focus as Asset Manager is assuring an effective deployment of Northwood Ravin’s financial and human capital as they impact the financial performance of both individual apartment communities and the portfolio as a whole. Developing measurement tools that identify meaningful performance distinctions and using those to make recommendations for actions leading to improved performance are key objectives. Charlie’s duties also include providing analysis and data in support of the company’s buying, selling, financing and development activities.

Charlie’s career track includes 12 years as a loan officer for commercial real estate debt financings, and 20 years in asset and property management positions for both public and private sector apartment owning entities. He is a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina and Certified Property Manager.

Courtney Schnee

Courtney Schnee

Asset Manager

Courtney is an accomplished real estate professional and joined NWR in 2015 as Regional Property Manager. Currently serving as Asset Manager, her focus is assuring an effective deployment of Northwood Ravin’s financial and human capital as they impact the financial performance of both individual apartment communities and the portfolio as a whole. Developing measurement tools that identify meaningful performance distinctions and using those to make recommendations for actions leading to improved performance are key objectives. Courtney's duties also include providing analysis and data in support of the company’s buying, selling, financing and development activities. In her role at Northwood Ravin, Courtney brings passion and focus to developing team members’ analytical, financial, management and leadership skills.

Courtney’s professional history includes both residential and commercial property management as well as development and operational experience in both new construction and historic tax credit projects. Prior to Courtney’s arrival at NWR, she worked throughout the mid-Atlantic and southeast with groups including Lincoln Property Company, Westdale Asset Management, Greystar Real Estate Partners and Capitol Broadcasting Company. Courtney is also a licensed North Carolina real estate broker.
